Vom Big Apple über den großen Teich geschwappt – Doissant oder Cronut?

Inzwischen geht es ziemlich schnell, bis neue Trends aus den USA bei uns ankommen – früher hat das immer Jahre gedauert, man denke da zum Beispiel an Rollschuhe/Roller Blades, Skateboard und Walkman. Der Cronut aus New York ist dabei schon innerhalb von 6 Monaten auch in Deutschland ziemlich gefragt.

Als ich diese „Doissants” heute beim meinem Spaziergang durch Müllheim in der Filiale der Bäckerei Armbruster in der Werderstraße entdeckt habe, musste ich nicht mal anstehen, wie es in New York bei der Ansel Bakery der Fall ist. Zugegeben, 2 Euro und 35 Cent pro Stück ist schon heftig, ich habe dann gleich zwei zum derzeitigen Angebot von 4,50 Euro mitgenommen (der Markgräfler muss natürlich auch noch einen probieren).

Dieser Doissant ist locker und luftig, schmeckt ein bisschen nach Berliner und ist mit Vanillecreme gefüllt. Obendrauf ein dicker Zuckerguss. Ich muss zugeben, es schmeckt fantastisch, ist aber durchaus mit einem Stück Torte (Kalorien…) zu vergleichen – also nicht als tägliches Frühstück gedacht, sondern eher aussnahmsweise als etwas Besonderes zum Kaffee.

Meanwhile, new trends from the United States arrive pretty fast with us (Germans) – it used to take ages in former times. Just think of roller skates / roller blades, skateboard and Walkman. The Cronut from New York is already quite in demand in Germany and that happened within 6 months .

When I discovered these „Doissants“ today during my walk through Müllheim in the bakery Armbruster in Werderstraße , I did not even have to queue, as is the case in New York at the Ansel Bakery. Of course, 2 euros and 35 cents per piece is already fierce , I then took two at the current offer of 4.50 euros (the Markgraefler must also have a try ) .

This Doissant is light and fluffy, is filled with vanilla cream and tastes a bit like a „Berliner Pfannkuchen“. It’s topped with a thick frosting. I have to admit , it tastes fantastic, but can be compared to piece of cake ( considering the calories) – not intended to be a daily breakfast , rather as something exceptional and special for coffee.
